MSI arguably delivered the most impressive launch at Computex 2023, with the company’s May 30th, Day 1, event titled, MSIology: Luxury Gaming Experience. This announced a partnership with, none other than, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport that will see Mercedes-AMG racing cars draped in MSI livery and the a brand new, Limited Edition, joint-venture high-performance laptop – the MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. The latter will be used by both entities’ SIM racers and Mercedes-AMG team members.

Pre-launch
As people began to enter the event space, we performed a quick tour of the surrounding space…
The Main Event
The event was held at the Marriott, Taipei and was opened with a welcome from MSI’s ‘Alex’ and featured rare, opening remarks from MSI Co-Founder, Jeans Huang.
Next we saw a video show-reel which conveyed MSI’s definition of luxury which was subsequently reinforced by Eric Kuo, MSI’s notebook GM.
We were then introduced to the MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport laptop which was immediately followed by the Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, Christoph Sagemuller explaining the vision behind the collaboration from the race-team’s perspective. This was followed by a signing-ceremony by Eric and Christoph to signify the official, public launch of the partnership.
Then… it was time to officially unveil both the MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport laptop (read our hands-on review of it, here) and the Mercedes-AMG GT racing car in its new, MSI race trim. Eric and Christophe removed the veils before the executive teams posed for photos.

The show then went on to talk more about the new laptop. This started with another show-reel which was followed by a detailed overview from Steven Yang, MSI’s Notebook Division National Manager.
The Catwalk
Afterwards the new laptop was shown off on a ‘cat-walk’ fashion show.
MSI Laptop Innovations
The next section of the announcement focused-on MSI’s entire, new laptop range and was presented by MSI SVP of Product Marketing, Ophelia Yang who spoke about MSI laptops’ three pillars: gaming, business and content creation. She detailed innovations like the MSI Raider‘s Smart Touchpad which features shortcut buttons and the ability to extend it into the largest laptop touchpad on the market.
She also announced the brand-new MSI Commercial 14 H Evo laptop which is made from MIL-spec recycled (PCR) plastic and has an NFC security chip plus a Smart Card reader. She also detailed MSI’s new AI-Artist app which offers a generative A.I. feature that can create photo-realistic images, based upon a few prompts, in just a few seconds.
This segued into a discussion about MSI’s cooling technology which helped deliver ‘Crushing’ performance from Intel and Nvidia partner chips.
Ophelia also covered innovations like the Aluminium-Magnesium alloy chassis, special colours, Mystic Light RGB technology and the translucent chassis, first featured on the MSI Cyborg 15.
Press Conference
Finally, we had a press conference which saw High Performance Laptops ask Christophe about the race car’s MSI livery and who, at Mercedes-AMG, would be using the new laptop.
