Want A Portable CoPilot+ Gaming Laptop? Check Out the 2025 MSI Stealth A16 AI+

Gaming laptops are big, heavy and bulky and can’t do AI, right? Well, not anymore. The 2025 update of MSI’s popular Stealth is upon us and it’s everything you could want from a laptop. It’s powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI processors which have Neural Processing Units that support Windows CoPilot+ AI features; it comes with Nvidia’s latest and greatest GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs; and it weighs just a pinch-over 2KG! Did we mention it looks awesome too? MSI commissioned High Performance Laptops to give you the lowdown on the Stealth A16 AI+ so, here’s what you need to know.

How does it all fit?

When you look at the specs list, you’d be forgiven for wondering how all the technology fits inside a 16-inch laptop that’s 20mm thick and weighs just 2.1KG. It’s got six (count’em!) speakers for goodness’ sake!

It looks cool, too, taking its exterior styling cues from a ninja’s wardrobe, being all matte black with just a subtle, distressed-white Dragon logo stamped on the lid. But, open it up and Bang!… there’s a per-key-lit-RGB gaming keyboard. So, it can be as stealthy or as bright as you like.

The chassis is made from magnesium-aluminium alloy for rigidity, robustness and lightness. It also has a fast-charging, maximum-sized, 99.9Wh battery making it the perfect companion for demanding road warriors, creators and travelling gamers.

There are various SKUs which are all powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors. These utilise up to 24 threads running across 12 cores plus an NPU that’s capable of 50 TOPS. They’re up to 30 per cent more powerful and 30 per cent more power efficient than the previous chip generation.

The NPU makes the Stealth  A16 AI+ Windows CoPilot+ compatible, opening the door to all kinds of useful, AI-based features. These include ‘Recall’ for finding anything that’s ever been on your laptop; ‘Click To Do’ for creating AI workflows; improved Windows Search; the ability to refresh your old, blurry photos with Super resolution enhancement; generative fill and erase in Paint; ‘Cocreator’ for generating high-quality images from basic sketches; live captioning for live video conferencing; advanced studio effects for the Full HD webcam; plus a highly useful, local AI assistant.

Graphics comes via Nvidia’s latest GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs which add even more AI processing power (pushing the laptop’s total to around 700 TOPS!) It has the new, super-fast GDDR 7 memory with 28Gb/s pin speed and 1.5TB/s bandwidth – that’s 40 per cent higher than GDDR 6. This is perfect for tasks like GenAI where response times can be cut by more-than 20 per cent and it also helps boost ray-tracing workloads by 30 per cent.

There’s also the new Nvidia Reflex technology which will lower latency in games and boost your performance. Meanwhile, the latest iteration of AI-based, frame-generating, DLSS 4 technology can enormously boost framerates and upscale resolution with barely any noticeable image degradation.

Finally, there’s the latest LPDDR5x-7500 RAM which offers a 17 per cent transmission-speed boost over LPDDR5-6400. This can help improve load times and facilitate smoother multitasking.

Stealth Cooler and battery

Cooling is naturally incredibly important in such a thin and powerful laptop and so MSI uses its highly regarded Cooler Boost 5 technology. This makes use of dual-fans, and seven (shared) heat pipes to provide maximum performance and stability or silent running, as required.

AIpplications

The AI performance even opens the door to industrial, commercial and domestic SLM (Small Language Model) applications. This means it can sit in on a meeting and produce a summary; offer interactive learning; optimise presentations; assist with writing; and provide video semantic analysis. That’s in addition to acting as a real-time gaming assistant.

MSI adds more applications to the mix, too. The MSI AI Engine technology recognises the type of activity you’re doing and optimises the settings accordingly. That means boosting performance for intelligent gaming; adjusting hardware for intelligent meetings; optimising visuals for streaming media; recognising when you need peace and quiet when doing office work; and understanding when you need hybrid settings for content creation. All of this is activated with just one click.

As if that wasn’t enough, the new Stealth also features the brand-new MSI AI Robot which enables you to talk to your laptop and tell it what to do.

Interacting with the MSI Stealth A16 AI+

With so much to make use of on the inside, it’s good to know that MSI has implemented the best ergonomics and components on the outside, to get the most out of them.

Everything is centred around the sumptuous, 240Hz, 16-inch OLED screen which offers superlative colours, contrast and speed to ensure multimedia and games look as good as they possibly can. They’ll sound stunning too thanks to the six(!) speakers inside – that’s two, 2-Watt tweeters and four, 2-Watt woofers(!)

Beneath it is the excellent, Steelseries gaming keyboard with its per-key, RGB lighting that contrasts magnificently with the all-black chassis. Its 1.5mm key travel makes it comfortable and accurate for both gaming and working and it even features isolated, non-squished arrow keys and a number pad.
