The Copilot+ PC features what Acer claims is the largest haptic touchpad on a laptop, paired with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen and up to 14 hours of battery life.
Acer has brought its Swift 16 AI laptop to the Australian market headlined, according to the company by the largest haptic touchpad available on a laptop. It also features Intel’s Core Ultra (Series 3) Panther Lake processor.
A touchpad the size of an iPad mini screen
The central feature of the Swift 16 AI is its edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass haptic touchpad, which measures 8.15 inches diagonally – comparable in size to an iPad mini display.
Acer has designed the surface to support precise control, gesture input and navigation without requiring an external mouse or trackpad. The company is positioning it as a productivity tool for users who need to work across different environments without carrying additional peripherals.
Built for mobile and hybrid work
The launch comes as more than one third of employed Australians now usually work from home at least part of the time, blurring the lines between traditional office setups and mobile workstations.
Acer has targeted that shift with a thin-and-light design measuring 10.61mm at its thinnest point. The company rates battery life at up to 14 hours, and the laptop includes a range of ports including HDMI 2.1.
The chassis carries a MIL-STD-810H durability rating, a US military standard that tests for resistance to drops, vibration and temperature extremes.
OLED display and Copilot+ PC designation
The Swift 16 AI ships with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen, placing it in the growing category of laptops using OLED panels to target creative professionals and users who prioritise display quality.
The device is also designated as a Copilot+ PC, meaning it meets Microsoft’s hardware requirements for on-device AI processing. That designation requires a neural processing unit capable of handling AI workloads locally rather than relying solely on cloud-based computation.
The Acer Swift 16 AI is available now in Australia through Harvey Norman.
