Asus Republic of Gamers has unveiled a refreshed Zephyrus G14 and G16 laptop lineup at CES 2026, targeting creators and professionals who want portable systems with the latest CPU, GPU and display technology.
Announced on January 6, the new models combine updated Intel and AMD processors with Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Series laptop GPUs, alongside redesigned thermals and upgraded OLED displays.
Next-Generation Processing And Graphics
Both the Zephyrus G14 and G16 are available with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) processors, which use a modular architecture designed to balance low-power efficiency with high-performance workloads.
The CPUs deliver up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance, enabling local execution of Ai workloads and support for in-game Ai features without relying on cloud services.
On the graphics side, the Zephyrus G14 GU405 supports up to a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU, while the Zephyrus G16 GU606 scales up to the GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU. The GPUs are based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture and support features such as DLSS 4 and Frame Generation.
Asus is also offering the Zephyrus G14 with a next-generation AMD Ryzen Ai processor. All three Zephyrus variants meet Copilot+ PC requirements, allowing users to run Ai models locally for productivity, creation and security-focused workflows.
Cooling Designed For Sustained Performance
Thermal design has been updated across the 2026 lineup, with Asus introducing refinements to its ROG Intelligent Cooling system.
Changes include a redesigned bottom panel, improved ventilation and optimised exhaust vent placement. Asus said the aim is to keep noise levels low while maintaining performance under sustained gaming or creative loads.
Focus On Portability And Design
The Zephyrus G14 remains the most compact option in the lineup, starting at around 1.5kg. The Zephyrus G16 weighs just under 2kg, positioning it as a portable alternative to larger gaming laptops.
Both models use CNC-milled aluminium chassis designs and are available in Platinum White and Eclipse Grey finishes.

The laptops also feature an updated Slash Lighting array on the lid, expanding from 7 lighting zones to 35. This allows more detailed lighting customisation and animation control through Asus software.
Expanded Connectivity For Mobile Workflows
Asus has upgraded I/O across the Zephyrus range to support more flexible mobile setups.
Both models include dual USB-C ports with DisplayPort output and 100W power delivery. AMD-based systems support USB4, while Intel models use Thunderbolt 4. Additional ports include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A connections, HDMI 2.1 and either an SD or microSD card reader.
Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 7, while a built-in audio jack supports professional audio workflows for editors and creators working on the move.
OLED Displays Push HDR And Colour Accuracy
Most Zephyrus G14 and G16 configurations now feature OLED panels carrying the ROG Nebula HDR badge.
The G14 uses a 3K 120Hz display, while the G16 steps up to a 2.5K 240Hz panel. Both offer a 0.2ms response time, Nvidia G-SYNC support and 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour coverage.
Peak brightness reaches 1,100 nits, with support for the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1,000 standard. Asus said the panels ship factory-calibrated with Delta E below 1, targeting colour-critical video and design work.
Scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC coating is used to protect the display surface.
Audio, Hinge And Everyday Use Improvements
Audio has been upgraded with a six-speaker system designed to provide clearer, more immersive sound for games and media.
An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness based on the surrounding environment. Asus has also updated the EasyLift hinge design to provide a smoother opening motion and improved ergonomics.
The new Zephyrus G14 and G16 models are positioned as hybrid systems, aimed at users who move between gaming, creative workloads and professional tasks.
Asus has not yet announced local pricing or availability details for Australia.
