Getac has introduced its next-generation ZX10, a 10-inch fully rugged Android tablet designed for professionals in public safety, utilities, and logistics. This new model combines lightweight construction with Ai-ready performance, offering field workers a durable and functional tool for challenging environments.

Aimed at Professionals in Tough Conditions

James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation, explained the focus of the ZX10’s development. “For field-based professionals, device weight can significantly impact productivity, especially during extended periods of use. The next-generation ZX10 addresses this with its lightweight design while offering Ai-ready performance, extensive configurability, and fully rugged reliability.”

The device weighs just 906 grams when configured with a standard battery, making it the lightest 10-inch fully rugged tablet currently available. This achievement is part of Getac’s effort to support productivity in demanding scenarios without compromising durability.

Engineered for Ai-Ready Performance

At the core of the ZX10 is Qualcomm’s QCS6490 processor and neural processor unit (NPU), designed for advanced Ai capabilities. The tablet supports complex tasks with an upgraded 1,000 nits LumiBond display, which remains readable in sunlight and functional in rain or when gloves are worn.

For those requiring additional input tools, the device offers an optional active digitiser with a stylus for precise data entry, even in harsh weather conditions.

Key specifications include 8GB LPDDR5 memory for efficient data processing and up to 256GB of universal flash storage for smooth multitasking.

Flexible Connectivity Options

The ZX10 features dual SIM capability with Nano SIM and eSIM support, ensuring reliable mobile network coverage. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and optional dedicated dual-band GPS for accurate location tracking.

The tablet can also be configured with 4G LTE, 5G Sub-6, near-field communication (NFC) for non-payment purposes, and an optional barcode reader, catering to a range of operational needs.

Designed for Rugged Environments

The ZX10 is built to withstand the challenges of fieldwork. It meets MIL-STD-810H and IP66 standards for durability and drop resistance from heights of up to six feet. The device operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -29°C to 63°C, making it suitable for extreme conditions.

Despite its robust design, the tablet remains portable. Its hot-swappable dual-battery system allows continuous use without downtime. Optional high-capacity batteries are available for extended operation.

Powered by Android

The ZX10 runs Android 13, providing a user-friendly interface and meeting Google’s requirements for enterprise-recommended rugged devices. Security updates are guaranteed every 90 days for five years, with a minimum of three Android OS version upgrades planned for the product’s lifecycle.

This future-proofing ensures that the tablet remains relevant in evolving operational landscapes.

Integrated with Getac Essentials Suite

The ZX10 is compatible with Getac’s Essentials Suite, a software package designed to improve efficiency in the field. The suite includes applications such as Getac Management, Getac Monitoring, OEMConfig, and Driving Safety, with full availability expected by April 2025.

These tools aim to help organisations optimise productivity and address specific operational challenges.
