HP has released the EliteBoard G1a, an AI PC built entirely into a keyboard form factor that eliminates the need for a traditional desktop tower.
The device, which HP describes as a new category of desktop computing, runs on AMD Ryzen AI processors with a built-in NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. It is a Copilot+ PC and ships with either Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro.
The EliteBoard G1a is available in Australia through HP.com with prices starting at $2,685.

Enterprise-Focused Design
HP is positioning the EliteBoard G1a at organisations with fixed or semi-fixed desk setups and employees who move between home and office workspaces. The company frames it as particularly relevant for healthcare providers, government agencies, financial services organisations and customer-facing workplaces where security and compliance are priorities.
The device is built with HP Wolf Security for Business and Microsoft Pluton, and includes enterprise management capabilities alongside a modular, serviceable architecture designed to help IT teams standardise deployments and simplify device management.
Director of Personal Systems at HP Australia & New Zealand, Neil Westhof, commented: “The EliteBoard G1a represents a new category of desktop computing, combining enterprise-grade security, desktop-class performance and a compact form factor in a single device. By integrating a full PC into a keyboard, we’re giving organisations a new way to deploy and manage desktop computing while reducing the hardware footprint.”
AMD Ryzen AI Under The Hood
Three AMD Ryzen AI processor options are available: the Ryzen AI 7 350 PRO with eight cores, the Ryzen AI 5 340 PRO with six cores and the Ryzen AI 5 330 with four cores. The two PRO models support AMD AIM-T manageability.
Integrated AMD Radeon 800 series graphics can drive up to four 4K displays at 60Hz. Memory runs to 64GB across two DDR5 SODIMM slots at 5,600 MT/s, while internal storage options extend to 2TB via a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD. The Ryzen AI 7 350 configuration also includes 32GB of eMMC embedded flash storage.
Senior Director and Country Manager at AMD Australia, Peter Chambers, remarked: “By combining HP’s expertise in workplace innovation with AMD Ryzen AI processor technology, the HP EliteBoard G1a brings on-device AI to a compact design, with a built-in NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. This gives organizations greater flexibility in how they deploy and manage desktop computing.”
Connectivity And Peripherals
The EliteBoard G1a is available in two cable configurations – detached or attached. Both offer USB4 ports with data transfer rates up to 40Gbps, 65W power delivery and DisplayPort 2.1, alongside USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with 10Gbps data transfer and DisplayPort 1.4.

A single cable can handle power, display output and data, which HP says reduces desktop cable clutter. The device can also receive up to 65W of passthrough power delivery via USB4 when connected to a compatible HP docking hub or HP Pro display.
Wireless connectivity comes via either a MediaTek RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E card with Bluetooth 5.3 or a MediaTek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7 card with Bluetooth 6.0.
Built-in stereo speakers and dual front-facing microphones are included, reducing the need for separate peripherals. An HP 675M wireless Bluetooth mouse ships pre-paired with the device.
For organisations using non-USB-C monitors, an optional HDMI Multi Port Hub adds two HDMI 2.1 outputs, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports and an RJ-45 Ethernet port.
Compact And Portable
The EliteBoard G1a weighs from 676g in its lightest configuration – detached cable with no battery. With the optional 32Whr replaceable battery fitted, weight rises to 768g. HP rates the battery at more than 3.5 hours of standard productivity use.
The unit measures 358mm x 118mm x 17mm and fits in a standard backpack, comparable in width to a 16-inch class laptop. An optional portable canvas soft case is available, and is included by default when the device is configured with a battery.
The keyboard itself features a full physical 10-key numpad, backlit keys with 2.0mm travel, a spillproof membrane and an HP Programmable Key. The colour option is Eclipse Gray.
Power is supplied by a 65W gallium nitride USB-C wall-mount adapter with a two-metre cable.
Security Stack
The security layer runs deep. HP Wolf Security for Business includes HP Sure Start, HP Sure Click, HP Sure Run, HP Sure Recover, HP BIOSphere, HP Client Security Manager, HP Sure Sense, intrusion detection, hardware TPM 2.0 and HP Tamper Lock. The device is Microsoft Secure Core PC certified and includes Microsoft Pluton.
A Kensington nano lock slot is built in, and an optional fingerprint reader can be configured at purchase. The EliteBoard G1a has passed HP’s commercial desktop MIL-STD 810H durability testing across 13 tests.
Sustainability Credentials
HP has put recycled and sustainably sourced materials throughout the device. The keyboard enclosure uses at least 75 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic, while the key caps, keyboard membrane, speaker box and fan housing contain at least 70 per cent recycled plastic including at least 5 per cent ocean-bound plastic.
The speaker box uses 100 per cent recycled rare earth element magnets. The keyboard base plate contains at least 90 per cent recycled SUS steel, the keyboard frame at least 90 per cent recycled aluminium and the fan cover at least 20 per cent recycled SGCC steel.
Packaging is 100 per cent sustainably sourced or recycled paper-based material. The device carries ENERGY STAR certification, EPEAT Gold registration in the US and TCO certification.
A real-time carbon footprint data feature using an AC current sensor is also included.
