Lenovo Partners with Databricks to Enhance Ai Adoption Across Industries

Lenovo has announced a partnership with Databricks to facilitate AI adoption among its customers by becoming a Databricks Consulting & Systems Integration (C&SI) Select Tier Partner. This collaboration aims to streamline data management and enhance the accessibility of data from multiple sources, ultimately breaking down the barriers to effective AI implementation.

The initiative will be spearheaded by the Lenovo AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE), which is set up to assist organizations in rapidly deploying AI solutions that are both cost-effective and scalable. Through the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, Lenovo will integrate various data sources for businesses, enhancing their capabilities in generative AI, data analytics, and innovation.

Linda Yao, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy at Lenovo Solutions & Services Group, shared insights from their discussions with customers. “Many organizations recognize the transformative potential of AI but feel unprepared to implement it effectively,” Yao noted. She added that their studies indicate a high recognition among CIOs of AI’s impact, yet a significant number report a lack of necessary technical skills to scale AI solutions swiftly.

Lenovo plans to begin its enhanced AI services in the Greater China and Asia Pacific regions, followed by a global rollout. These services will encompass comprehensive solutions for data management, including cloud strategies, data platform modernization, data migration, and AI and ML implementations.

Greg Taylor, VP of Partners at Databricks, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. “Our collaboration with Lenovo is a significant step towards democratizing data and AI for organizations worldwide. We are excited to help drive innovation and growth for our customers through the Databricks platform,” he stated.

The partnership is built on Lenovo’s extensive expertise in IT solutions, including more than a decade of experience in public cloud practices and over fifteen years in data platform development. This collaboration is part of Lenovo’s broader AI Services practice, which provides essential training and tools to help organizations maximize their AI utilization.

Reflecting on the strategic alignment with current industry standards, Lenovo also introduced an AI services portfolio that adheres to the Gartner Five Critical AI Adoption Phases. The Lenovo AICoE is designed to expedite the delivery of these services, aiming to enhance operational efficiency by leveraging AI to unlock valuable insights from data.

Art Hu, SVP & CIO for Lenovo, and Chief Technology and Delivery Officer for Lenovo’s Solutions and Services Group, emphasized the practical benefits of the partnership. “Our collaboration with Databricks enhances our capability to deliver comprehensive AI readiness, helping our customers navigate the complexities of AI adoption effectively and responsibly,” Hu said. He highlighted that the end-to-end solutions provided by Lenovo will address the full spectrum of AI integration challenges, enabling faster realization of AI benefits.

The relationship between Lenovo and Databricks builds on Lenovo’s prior engagement with the platform, which began in 2022. Lenovo had developed an enterprise-level global data warehouse using Databricks and Azure services, integrating extensive corporate data models and supporting a wide range of organizational functions from production to sales.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for Lenovo as it continues to support digital and intelligent transformation initiatives across industries, providing clients with a modern data platform that facilitates efficient enterprise reporting, analytics and AI application adoption.
