Asus announces two new Zephyruses (or is it Zephyri?)

Zephyrus S17

• Rising keyboard to improve cooling: Optical mechanical keyboard lifts up at 5° to improve comfort and feed airflow to the AAS Plus cooling system.
• 11th Gen Intel processors: Core i9-11900H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU.
• 17-inch display options: QHD 165Hz with G-Sync and Advanced Optimus or 4K 120Hz with Adaptive-Sync, both with pro-grade DCI-P3 colour.
• Six speakers: With dual woofers, dual Smart Amps, and Dolby Atmos technology.

Zephyrus 2021 – the M16

• 16-inch display in slim 15-inch form factor: 4.6mm bezels on all four sides allow 16-inch, 16:10 panel with 94 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
• 11th Gen Intel processors: Core i9-11900H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
• Portable: 20mm thickness and 1.9kg weight, with fast-charging 90Wh battery that enables up to 10 hours of video playback.
• High-quality audio: Six speakers with dual force-canceling woofers enable Dolby Atmos surround sound, while 3D mic array captures clear audio.

Connectivity and other features

On the Zephyrus 2021 models, a Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) port can drive two 4K displays at 60Hz or a single 8K monitor and it offers quick access to media and other data on external drives. Users can charge the laptop and other devices through this port, too.

A separate Type-C port and a pair of Type-A USB ports provide room for gaming peripherals and more. Wi-Fi 6 lets users take advantage of faster wireless networks, while the Ethernet jack enables a “pristine connection” for serious multiplayer gaming. The microSD card reader makes it easy to access media from cameras and other devices.

The Stealth Type keyboard has a desktop-style layout that feels familiar, and typing noise stays under 30dB, so users can work and play without disturbing anyone nearby. ROG has increased the size of the touchpad by 20% compared to the last generation, and faster processing delivers greater accuracy for an improved tracking experience.

We’ll be reviewing both 2021 Zephrus models on High Performance Laptops as soon as they’re available… which hasn’t been announced yet (neither has the price).
