LG Announces 2025 Laptops

CES: LG Announces 2025 Laptops

LG has announced its 2025 LG Gram lineup, introducing on-device Ai-powered laptops. The new range includes models like the Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, Gram, and Gram Book, all set to be unveiled at CES 2025 in January. These devices leverage LG’s Gram Ai technology to offer enhanced productivity and personalisation while maintaining the series’ hallmark slim and lightweight design.

Smarter, More Personalised Productivity

The 2025 Gram laptops introduce LG Gram Ai, a system designed to provide a secure and highly tailored user experience. This innovation integrates on-device processing with cloud-based Ai services for a hybrid approach.

With the Gram Chat On-Device feature, users can process and analyse data locally without a network connection. In tandem, the Gram Chat Cloud service — powered by GPT-4o — offers cloud-based Ai capabilities, including access to a wide knowledge base and personalised insights. The cloud service is free for the first year and enhances user productivity with features like schedule management and email integration.

Gram Chat On-Device employs a small language model developed from LG Ai Research’s EXAONE large language model. It allows fast and secure processing for tasks such as revisiting web pages, documents, and media files through a feature called Time Travel. Gram Chat Cloud extends functionality further by accessing web-based data and integrating with personal calendars and emails.

The 2025 Gram lineup features Intel’s next-generation processors, with models running on either the Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) or the Intel Core Ultra V-Series (Lunar Lake). The H-Series prioritises traditional PC performance, while the V-Series focuses on Ai-driven functionalities.

Arrow Lake-powered laptops promise enhanced computing and graphics capabilities compared to their 2024 counterparts. Meanwhile, Lunar Lake-powered models feature Microsoft’s Copilot+ technology, offering tools like real-time video subtitle translation and Ai-based image generation.

A Range of Options for Diverse Users

At the top of the lineup is the LG Gram Pro (model 17Z90TR), combining an Arrow Lake CPU with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics. This configuration supports demanding tasks like 3D rendering, video editing, and gaming. Despite its high performance, the Gram Pro retains the portability the series is known for.

Other highlights include the Gram Pro (model 16Z90TS), touted as the thinnest and lightest in the series at 1.23 kilograms and 0.49 inches thick. The Gram Pro 2-in-1 (model 16T90TP), equipped with a wirelessly chargeable stylus, earned recognition at CES 2025 for its versatile design. LG is also targeting a broader market with the Gram Book (model 15U50T), an entry-level option offering key features like a Full HD display, expandable storage, and a privacy-focused webcam.

All new Gram laptops come with Gram Link 2.0, an upgraded version of the connectivity feature introduced last year. This allows seamless file sharing and device interaction across operating systems, including iOS and Android. Users can even manage phone calls directly from their laptops.

YS Lee, Vice President and Head of LG’s IT Business Unit, said, “The 2025 LG Gram lineup, equipped with advanced Gram Ai, is designed to meet users’ evolving needs, enhancing productivity and workflows. LG remains committed to providing premium-quality laptops that incorporate the latest Ai technologies.”

The 2025 LG Gram lineup will make its debut at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, showcasing LG’s commitment to innovation in personal computing. The hybrid Ai approach, coupled with lightweight and sleek designs, positions the series as a versatile choice for users seeking both performance and portability.
