Kingston Fury has expanded its high-performance storage lineup with a new 8TB variant of the Renegade G5 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, aimed at users with heavy computing and gaming demands.
The new model doubles the previous maximum capacity in the Renegade G5 range, bringing high-speed storage to professionals involved in video editing, 3D rendering and large-scale gaming workloads. It offers read and write speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and 14,000MB/s respectively, supported by a PCIe Gen5 x4 controller and 3D TLC NAND technology.
Kingston said the addition reflects growing demand from both creators and gamers for faster and more capacious storage hardware. “Whether for work or play, users need more power and space,” a Kingston spokesperson said. “We’re happy this 8TB addition to Kingston Fury Renegade G5 SSD can provide high-power users and hardware enthusiasts both.”
Targeted At Power Users
Designed for desktop and laptop use, the Renegade G5 series is positioned for users who need consistent performance under load without sacrificing capacity. The 8TB version joins existing 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models.
According to Kingston, the drive can handle over two million input/output operations per second (IOPS), offering high throughput for applications that rely on rapid data transfers and minimal latency.
While the SSD is optimised for consumer workloads, Kingston advises it is not intended for use in server environments. The company said the performance figures are based on testing using PCIe 5.0 systems running Ryzen 5 7600X and Intel Ultra7 processors, and results may vary depending on system configuration.
Warranty And Availability
The Kingston Fury Renegade G5 range is backed by a five-year limited warranty and free technical support. The company continues to emphasise its focus on reliability, saying its SSDs are tested to ensure consistent endurance and stability under sustained workloads.
Some of the advertised capacity is reserved for formatting and system functions, meaning the usable space is slightly less than the stated amount. The warranty period is determined by either time or “Percentage Used”, which can be monitored using Kingston’s SSD Manager tool.
