While we figure out how to get reviews back onto High Performance Laptops, we’re posting the full version on our sister site, SMBtech. Find the full review there. Below is the summary.

The Asus Zenbook S 14, powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake, showcases significant strides in laptop technology, offering impressive portability, power efficiency, and Ai enhancements. The 14-inch OLED display delivers vibrant colours and sharp resolution, though its glossy surface can cause reflections. The screen is Pantone Validated, HDR compatible, and features a 120Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for designers and fast-paced tasks. It also includes a touchscreen and comes with an Asus Pen 2.0 stylus, though its lack of convertibility limits its use.

The laptop is lightweight at 1.19kg and sports a robust ceramic-aluminium chassis. Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and Wi-Fi 7, although another USB port could be beneficial. The Full HD webcam performs well in low light, and the speakers deliver impressive sound quality.

Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V processor, the Zenbook S 14 integrates Ai features like CoPilot+ seamlessly, making it a practical option for those looking for efficient Ai-driven workflows. However, its performance in rendering tests lags behind due to the removal of Hyperthreading, with Cinebench scores falling short compared to previous models and ARM-based competitors. Gaming benchmarks showed improvements, particularly with ray tracing, though high-end gaming remains a challenge.

Battery life stands out, with the Zenbook lasting 24 hours in tests, rivalling ARM-based laptops without sacrificing performance or application compatibility. This makes it highly portable and suitable for extended use without the need for frequent recharging.

While priced at $3,399, the Zenbook S 14 offers strong value given its performance, portability, and feature set. It may not be ideal for users needing extensive rendering power or running numerous heavy applications simultaneously, but for most, the Zenbook S 14 sets a new standard in ultraportable laptops.
