Intel has announced the availability of laptops powered by its Core Ultra Series 3 processors across Australia, with devices from Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI now available at local retailers.
The processors, formerly code-named Panther Lake, were first unveiled at CES 2026 earlier this year. They represent the latest step in Intel’s client computing roadmap, with a focus on integrating AI capabilities directly into laptop hardware.
New architecture built on Intel 18A
The Core Ultra Series 3 processors are built on Intel’s 18A process and introduce a new architecture designed around performance, graphics and AI workloads.
Each processor integrates a CPU, GPU and neural processing unit (NPU), with the NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI compute for on-device workloads. Intel says this enables features such as AI-assisted productivity tools, content creation and collaboration.
The processors also feature the Xe3 integrated graphics architecture, which Intel says delivers improved gaming and visual performance over previous generations.
Intel has positioned the chips as a step forward for battery life in its AI PC lineup, with the architecture designed to improve energy efficiency across thin-and-light form factors.
More than 200 designs globally
Intel indicated that more than 200 laptop designs globally will feature Core Ultra Series 3 processors, spanning consumer, gaming and commercial systems.
In Australia, devices are expected to range from ultra-portable productivity laptops to higher-performance machines aimed at creators and gamers, with availability rolling out throughout 2026.
Glen Boatwright, Country Manager for Intel Australia, described the launch as a reflection of the company’s progress in client computing.
“Intel Core Ultra Series 3 represents a significant step forward in our client computing roadmap,” Boatwright stated.

“It reflects the progress Intel is making in delivering stronger products, combining breakthrough performance, advanced AI capabilities and exceptional efficiency.”
Boatwright added that with OEM partners now bringing systems to market, “Australian consumers and businesses can now experience the next generation of AI-powered computing.”
On-device AI the central pitch
The Core Ultra Series 3 launch continues Intel’s push to make on-device AI processing a standard feature of mainstream laptops rather than a capability reserved for high-end or specialist machines.
The integrated NPU is designed to handle AI workloads locally, reducing reliance on cloud-based processing. Intel has framed this as important for both performance and privacy, allowing AI features to run without sending data off-device.
Australian buyers can purchase Core Ultra Series 3 laptops from Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI through leading retailers starting this week.
